Management Team

Patrick Fisher, Chief Executive Officer & Founder
Mr. Fisher founded Creation Investments in 2007 and has worked exclusively in Impact Investing and the Microfinance Industry since inception, specifically in deal origination, due diligence, transaction execution and ongoing board capacities. He spent the majority of his career working in the financial services industry, most recently for JPMorgan Chase. His work experience includes 8 years of service in International Banking and Global Treasury and Trade Services, primarily covering Asia and Latin America. Mr. Fisher lived in China, specifically in Hong Kong and Beijing. Prior to that, Mr. Fisher marketed interest rate, commodity foreign exchange derivatives on Bank One’s Chicago trading floor. He received his credit underwriting training from American National Bank in Chicago. He has started numerous businesses, established three previous investment funds and has served on the board of several for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. His past experience includes executive leadership for a not-for-profit organization in Chicago. Mr. Fisher is a graduate of the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he received a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance and Marketing. He also received his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, at the University of Notre Dame, where he majored in Philosophy, Theology, and Computer Applications. Mr. Fisher has studied biblical Greek, speaks intermediate Mandarin and is fluent in Spanish. He is a Certified Cash Manager, Certified Treasury Professional and a member of Mensa.

Ken Vander Weele, Chief Investment Officer
Mr. Vander Weele serves as the Chief Investment Officer of Creation Investments. He is a founding board member Creation Investments Social Ventures Fund I and was instrumental in the establishment of Creation Investments’ model and pipeline. Prior to Creation Investments, Mr. Vander Weele was the President of the Investment Services Division at Opportunity International, a global microfinance network. In this role, Mr. Vander Weele was responsible for the development and oversight of all commercial MFIs institutions within the network, garnering over $1 billion in assets over his tenure. From 2000 to 2008, he was in charge of investment banking services to procure debt and equity capital to finance development and growth of commercial microfinance institutions, overseeing feasibility studies, research, due diligence and financing of MFIs in emerging markets. He was responsible for the management of the Opportunity Transformation Investments (OTI), an investment fund that he helped establish and that has made investments in microfinance institutions in Africa, Central Asia, Eastern Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the Pacific, and the Caribbean, and the development of its investment philosophy, policies and strategies. He also is credited for the creation of new MFIs and the successful conversion of non-governmental institutions into microfinance banks.

Mr. Vander Weele held various positions with the network including Regional Vice President for Eastern Europe and Interim President for the network in the U.S, following the resignation of the CEO. From 1975 to 1981, Mr. Vander Weele worked at Grant Thornton in Madison, Boston, and Chicago. He was the Senior Vice President, CFO and a founding shareholder for Graphisphere Corporation from 1981 to 1991. Mr. Vander Weele received a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin in Madison and a Ph.D. from the Open University of the U.K. under the sponsorship of the Oxford Center for Mission Studies and Oxford University. He has also completed coursework from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago. He is a Certified Public Accountant. His business activities have included involvement in the American Institute of CPAs, the Illinois Society of CPAs, the Turnaround Management Association, the Association for Corporate Growth, and CPAs for the Public Interest. He also is a financial and venture capital adviser for several entrepreneurial companies. He has served on corporate, civic, and religious boards of directors.

Caroline Allen, Vice President
Ms. Allen joined Creation Investments in 2009 and brings substantial valuation and transaction expertise. Most recently, she was a member of the investment banking group at William Blair & Company, working on both public and private equity deals, including mergers and acquisitions and equity offerings across a broad range of industries. Prior to that, she worked in the investment and trading group at an institutional money management firm. Ms. Allen has served on the board of not-for-profit organizations, participated in global service trips, and written articles on service topics. Ms. Allen received her MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and her BS with Distinction from the University of Virginia, where she majored in Business. Ms. Allen is also a CFA charter holder and has her Series 7 and Series 63 certifications.

Tyler Day, Associate
Mr. Day joined Creation Investments in 2011. Most recently, he was a Technical Advisor to the microfinance institution, Five Talents Uganda in Kampala, Uganda. Prior to that, he was a Financial Analyst in the mergers and acquisitions group at the investment banking firm, Houlihan Lokey. While at Houlihan, Mr. Day focused on mergers and acquisitions advisory and private placements of debt and equity. Mr. Day received his Bachelor of Business Administration from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in Finance. Mr. Day has his Series 7 and Series 63 certifications.

Adam Code, Investment Advisor
Mr. Code joined Creation Investments in 2009 as an Associate. Previously, he was an Analyst in the investment banking group at William Blair & Company, focusing on sell-side and buy-side M&A advisory, public equity offerings and private placements.  He received his BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he majored in History. Mr. Code speaks intermediate Italian and intermediate Spanish.  Mr. Code is currently pursuing his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University while continuing his involvement with Creation Investments as an Investment Advisor.
